Eddington Astronomical Society

I am Secretary of Kendal’s astronomical society, the EDDINGTON ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY (EAS), named after the famous cosmologist Sir Arthur Eddington. EAS is now the largest and most active of Cumbria’s four astronomical societies.

EAS holds monthly meetings in Kendal Museum, as well as regular special public observing events, lectures, presentations and other activities. You can find the EAS website here:


On March 20th 2015 we held a special “Eclipse Watch” to show people the solar eclipse. Sadly the weather didn’t co-operate but it was still a brilliant day. You can read all about it here…
